The war begins and Percy leads the group of demigods into a dormant Manhattan to battle monsters and demons, while the gods are battling the monstrous Typhon in the east. Rachel arrives, revealing that she has had a vision that read, "Perseus, you are not the hero. It will affect what you do." Ethan, who was aiming at Percy's Achilles Spot during a battle to invade New York City nearly killed Percy but Annabeth had pushed herself in the way as if she had a feeling that Percy was in danger so she got injured instead. Percy is furious and horrified, knocking Ethan unconscious with his sword. Kronos threatens Percy to surrender or he will kill Annabeth, but Percy calls Blackjack who takes her to a hotel in a plaza. Annabeth is seriously injured, and Percy tells her where his Achilles spot is and that she saved his life. Annabeth remarks he looks "cute when worried" and that his eyebrows "get all scrunched up." When Kronos makes it to the Hall of the Gods, Percy battles him to stop the destruction of the Olympians' Thrones, which, if destroyed will cause the Olympians to lose their power. Kronos asks Ethan to kill Percy as he knows where his Achilles' spot is, however, Percy convinces him that what he is doing is wrong. Ethan then attacks Kronos and strikes him on the shoulder with his blade. However, due to Kronos also bearing the Curse of Achilles, Ethan's blade cracks and he harms himself fatally. Kronos then opens up a fissure which causes Ethan to fall to his death for his betrayal. Annabeth is able to convince Luke to resurface. She reminds him of his promise that he would protect her and asks Percy to give him the knife so that he can defeat Kronos. Percy hands over the knife, discovering he was not the hero after all, but his choice to give it to Luke was the decision he had to make, and it decided by fate of Olympus. Kronos is blown to dust and scattered by the wind, and Luke dies a hero's death. Right after that, the gods arrived after successfully defeating Typhon and are shocked to see Luke's dead body on the ground.
Percy and Reyna formally met when Percy carried Juno to Camp Jupiter. Reyna was wary of Percy and studied him carefully, giving Percy the idea that she wanted to run him through her dagger. Percy asked if he knew her and Reyna introduced herself, and said she didn't, but she could tell from her eyes that they have met before. Reyna decided to question him in the principia before bringing him to Octavian, and said he was either a new recruit or if he brought an enemy to kill. Percy was scared of Reyna and was even more scared of her greyhounds, Aurum and Argentum, but she reassured him that they won't attack. Percy told Reyna what he remembered and she believed him, except for the fact that he had no memory. But she slightly warmed up to Percy when she said that children of Neptune have a powerful smell, and Percy said that he had been told he smells, making Reyna crack a smile. Reyna decided to believe Percy was telling the truth after her dogs didn't eat him. Since Percy came from outside the camp, Hazel asked if he met their missing praetor Jason Grace. Hazel said the Romans were searching for Jason and have not given up after his disaperance. Reyna grimaced at Hazel's statement, which made Percy realize that Reyna considered Jason to be more than a colleague, and she had strong feelings for him. Reyna wished him luck in the auguries and suggested that they compare notes on his past.
When I was a kid in the early '60s my mother took me on weekly trips to the Wilmette Public Library. It was a well-stocked warren of interconnected sandy-brick buildings that grew in increments as Wilmette morphed from farmland to modest houses with vacant lots, to an upwardly mobile, bland, Chicago suburb, and finally to a pricey, bland, Chicago suburb. My most vivid memory of those visits was the central aisle, flanked by thousands of books reflecting glints of "modern" fluorescent lights from their crackly plastic covers. I decided to read them all. I began taking out five books each weekend with the idea that I would exchange them for another five a week later, and continue until the mission was accomplished. Fortunately for my adolescence, I soon realized a deflating fact: the library was acquiring more than five books per week.
As their starships are living creatures, they respond to the telepathic commands of its 'pilot'. This has several advantages for them, one of which is that the ships are capable of healing themselves after battle. Their organic form also is immune to tractor beam and transporter technology which prevents their capture. Their battleships emit a form of bio-pulses that are highly energetic and capable of dealing considerable damage to Borg cubes. They could combine and reroute these pulses into a frigate vessel which could generate such power that it was capable of cracking and destroying planets. This seems to require four to eight battleship vessels in addition to the frigate to accomplish this task which shows their power in regards to energy manipulation.
In Wayward Cave the Commander found Braham, along with Rox and Garm. The Commander apologized for the Svanir hunting them, and then proceeded to catch Braham up on all that had happened in the past few encounters. Braham was mostly uninterested, and was appalled that the Commander had left Destiny's Edge behind for a new guild, feeling that it spat on his mother's and Snaff's memory. The group pressed onward into the cave, searching for the mystic scroll. Deep inside the cave, they eventually found an ice beast and its minions. After breaking down several ice blocks, the scroll Braham searched for was revealed. He took it and fused it into Eir's bow to defeat the ice beast. Braham was elated, and stated his plans to crack Jormag's tooth with the enchanted bow, rallying the Norn so that Jormag could be defeated once and for all. However the Commander rejected this idea, saying that it would get many people killed recklessly, and mentioned Taimi's alternative plan. Braham was furious, insulting the Commander's actions and storming off angrily with Garm back to Hoelbrak.

Energy swirled between his three cranial horns, alighting Gomora in a vibrant hue. The Gyaos followed suit, summoning sonic energy as golden light took shape within its serrated maw. As each planted their feet in preparation of what was to come, the tantalizing prospect of victory gripped the saurian. Staring through crackling waves of orange light, Gomora eagerly awaited the climactic end to his first true battle in decades, merely for the booming crunch of bone to halt those enticing emotions.
Fists crashed together like meteors. Finger bones cracked apart. A shockwave shattered rain and as thunder boomed overhead, each kaiju retracted their impaired digits, prepping their signature weapons to end the battle once and for all, yet in doing so, Gabara quickly realized his predicament. 2b1af7f3a8
